Qi Xu is currently an AssociateProfessor of Nutritional Sciences at Shanghai University ofTraditional Chinese Medicine. She got her M.D. from School ofMedicine, Shanghai Jiaotong University in China, completed her masterdouble major in Biomedical Sciences and Education at Iowa StateUniversity and Boston University, and her Ph.D. double major inNutrition and Toxicology at Iowa State University in US. She iscurrently holding a registered dietician (RD, RDN) license accreditedby Academy of Nutrition &Dietetics (AND), Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition& Dietetics (ACCEND),and Commission on Dietetic Registration in US. She is a board memberof Shanghai Nutrition Society, and a committee member of ChineseNutrition Society. Her research focuses on the prevention of chronicdiseases through the nutrition interventions. She has published 9(first-authored or corresponding authored) papers including 6 SCIcited papers in the Journal of Nutrition, International Journal ofVitamin and Minerals, BMC Complement Altern Med Journal ofToxicology, and Journal of Parkinson’s Disease respectively. Shewon Travel award, 2016 Emerging Leaders in Nutrition ScienceCompetition and Second Prize, 2014 Experimental Biology Nutrient-GeneInteraction competition in Global Experimental Biology conference.She also received awards at Norman Borlaug Poster Competitions twice,Neuroscience Fall Research Day competition and College of VeterinaryMedicine Research day competition at Iowa State University in US. Shehas been awarded a grant from Shanghai National Science Foundationafter coming back to China in 2016. She currently teaches fivecourses including Nutrition for Special Population, EnglishVocabulary for Nutrition, Nutrition Introduction, Clinical Nutritionfor Nurses, and Nutriology and TCM.
