Fen Rong, female, PhD.

Dr.Rong got PhD at epidemiology and health statistics from FudanUniversity in 2012. She focuses on research of the statisticalmethods in the epidemiology of chronic noncommunicable diseases andtraditional Chinese medicine. She has worked at the Department ofPreventive Medicine of Shanghai University of Traditional ChineseMedicine (SHUTCM) since August 2005 and currently is the head ofDepartment of Epidemiology and Health Statistics at the College ofPublic Health. She teaches the undergraduates, graduates and juniorcolleague students Medical Statistics and Epidemiology and othercourses.

During2014/01 to 2015/01, she worked at University of Southern Californiaas a visiting scholar and was involved in the research sponsored byNational Eyes Institute on the eye diseases in Chinese Americans. In2015/07, she participated in the summer training of Big Data atUniversity of Missouri Columbia, USA. In 2018/05, she participated inthe Healthcare Professional Shadowing Program as the leading teacherat Institute of Global Health, Michigan State University, USA. As alecture at SHUTCM, she is working as the undergraduate’s tutor andmember of undergraduate’s thesis guidance committee. In 2008, shewas awarded as “ExcellentUndergraduate’s Tutor of SHUTCM”.In 2019/03, she was awarded as “March8 Red-Banner Holders of SHUTCM”.

Currently,she has been responsible for three projects sponsored by ShanghaiEducation Commission and is also involved in the projects sponsoredby the National 11thFive–Year Technology Support Programs, National Natural ScienceFund and Ford Fund,etc. She has more than20 papers published including 11 of them as the 1stauthor and 1 indexed by SCI.
