Dr. Yan Xie obtained her Ph.D.degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences specialization in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and master degree in Pharmaceutics from China Pharmaceutical University. She is currently a Research Professor in Pharmaceutics of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),member of Research Center for Health and Nutritionin Shanghai University of TCM,committee member of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies in Chinese Medicine Pharmacy, committee member of TCM in Pharmaceutical Society of Shanghai, member of the expert database in Shanghai Science and Technology Committee,academic editor of Advanced Applied Materials, academic editor of Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs.Dr. Xie focuses on research and application of new technology of traditional Chinese medicine preparation,including reversal the tumor multidrug resistance by natural active components and there lated mechanisms,development of various nano-delivery systems for poorly water-soluble traditional Chinese medicine compounds,and the preclinical studies and development of TCM new drugs and nutritional health products.At present, as aprincipal investigator, she holds research projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China,Modernization of Chinese Traditional Medicine Project of Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, Chinese Traditional Nutrition of Shanghai emerging interdisciplinary subject of traditional Chinese Medicine, and so on. She has published more than 70 peer-reviewed research articles, reviews and comments,including research articles in the journals of Nano Letter, JControl Release, Nanoscale,Acta Pharm Sin B,Carbohydrate Polymers, MolPharm,etc.She is an inventor on 7 patents and obtained 1 new drug Clinical Trial Permission.Dr. Xie has won over 10 awards including as the first completed person of the second prize of Shanghai Municipal Science and Technological ProgressAward, the first prize of Pudong Municipal Science and Technological Progress Award, the second prize of Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award of Shanghai, and Life Science Award of MEIJI Corp, respectively.She has received several Honorary Titles including Shanghai Academic/Technology Research Leader, Shanghai “Pujiang Program”for Overseas Returnees, Shanghai “Shu Guang” Scholar,and Shanghai “Rising-Star Program” for Young Scientists.
